Feelin' Very Crafty!

Okay, so I guess with Valentine's around the corner, I am feeling a whole lotta pink! It was time for Emerson to have some new bows (well, really it's a flower headband) and shoes! So I thought I would make her a couple of headbands for the month of love and also jazz up her super cute pink Converse her Auntie Jen got her! Just thought I would share...Oh and by the way, Emerson is not a very good model. She was looking at the camera as opposed to looking at the rattle I was shaking in her face. I needed her to look down and to the side to really get a good picture of the flower on her head. I now know if I ever do go into business, I will have to find my models elsewhere until she can cooperate! Enjoy!

Emerson is 6 Months!

Okay, so I know I have been totally bad about blogging lately, but after getting an iPhone, I find myself using my desktop way less. I am going to do better starting now.

Anyhow, I cannot believe Emerson is six months already. She is such a joy I can't even begin to tell you. Her smile could light up a room. All you have to do is make eye contact with her and she will flash her two pearly whites. Teething has been a little more of an issue than it was with Campbell. But of course, Little Miss is drama so she lets us know about anything and everything! As for what she is doing, pretty much nothing. I swear this baby is so content, she has zero desire to roll over, or sit up. Wherever you put her, she is happy (most of the time).

We went for her check-up on Thursday and thankfully she is a perfectly healthy baby. I thought the doc was going to put her on a diet, but instead he just said, "It looks to me like she is a happy baby!" So are you ready for the details? She weighs 20lbs 14oz (<95%) and she is 26 3/4 inches (85%). I can't believe she is such a BIG girl. The pics above are of Emerson from this week, and also one of Campbell at 6 months. Is the Bumbo one not the most hilarious thing uou have ever seen?

Three Dreaded Letters

Well, Emerson has RSV. Yuck... Instead of enjoying the holiday season with my kiddos and hubby, the next couple of weeks will be spent giving breathing treatments, sucking nasty snot out of her nose and giving extra love and care to my poor sweet little girl. Who, by the way, has been nothing but happy (for the most part) throughout this whole process. I am currently trying to figure out if I all be at work or if my wonderful sister-in-law will be able to come into town and watch Emerson since she cannot be at daycare for at least two weeks. Thankfully I am almost out for the holidays. Work of course takes the backseat, but the problem lies with the fact that report cards have to to out before the break and, oh yeah, my room has to be completely packed in boxes by next Friday. Do you see my dilemma?

Between still having school when the rest of the Metroplex is off and the Red Radiers sucking it up, I am SO done. Tomorrow is going to be the longest day ever. I am not sure I will be able to make it. Please pray for me! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Campbell's Latest Milestone

Friday morning I asked Campbell to get his coat from his bedroom. He went down the hall and let out this horribly fake whine. I was immediately irritated when I found out that the whine was because his room was dark and he said he was scared...REALLY? Anyhow, I turned on the hall light and went about my business.
Next, I hear Campbell say, "Mom, I did it. I turned off the light." I didn't think anything of it because he always turns lights on and off with a bat or golf club. My response, "Cool." He then proceeded to yell, "I said I turned off the light, look Mom." So I went to the hall and sure enough my big boy can officially reach the light switch.
I started to make a big hooha and said we might have to get a treat for reaching such a big milestone. My comment immediately got an evil look from Wesley.

...and we are off the charts!

Okay, so I am sure you all remember when I was worried about little Annie Anorexic when she was very little. I had to put her on soy, concentrate her formula, and she was only eating about 12 ounces a day and losing weight as opposed to gaining. At one point her life she was in the 10th % for weight (very small) Well, all of that has changed. We went for her 4 month check up on Thursday, Homegirl is not even on the charts (above 95%). She weighs a whopping 16 1/2 pounds! Seriously! She is BIG for her age, but what is funny is that her height and weight is almost the exact same as Campbell's was when he was only TWO MONTHS! Just a funny story I thought I would share!

Support Breast Cancer Research!

This weekend was spent cheering for all of the 3 Day walkers. As you know, my very dear friend, Beth's mother, was diagnosed with breast cancer in January of 2007. She is here today, free and clear of cancer and doing great! We all walked in the 3 Day (every step of every one of the 60, yes I said 60, miles) in 2007, but decided to be cheerleaders this year with myself and Stephanie (Beth's cousin) having babies! It was truly a blast and all of the walkers just LOVED us. We thought about all of the things we loved when we were walking and made those things happen this year for the walkers (really it was Pattie and Chris who bought everything...thanks girls).

Beth and I have a friend, Emily, who was walking this year. We saw her today a little before noon and she broke into tears when she saw us. She said, "Finally, I get to see y'all! I am so exhausted." We just said, "We know exactly how you feel. YOU CAN DO IT!" The 3 Day is the most awe-inspiring thing I have ever done besides getting married and giving birth to my two beautiful babies. I encourage each of you to get out there and do it one year. It will change your life and you will forever be hooked on the cause!

Emerson came out to cheer with me and of course I had her decked out in a onsie I made (I appliqued on a pink robbon I cut from some velvety soft fabric )and a tutu of course! She was a hit. So many people took her picture and lots of women said with moist eyes, "We are walking for you sweetheart." Talk about awe inspiring! I am attaching some pics from the weekend and leaving you with T-shirt sayings from the weekend! I wish I could remember them all. You talk about tears, try walking behind a father and son with a picture of their wife and mother on their backpack with a sign that says, "In memory of my mom/wife."
